Personally I prefer Continentals
It’s Your Ride from Cinecycle on Vimeo.
Although as I struggled to get the Four Seasons onto the rims without breaking my fingers this afternoon the first few frames of this seriously well filmed advertising short seemed very tempting.
The video does raise some questions – like:
How is he still alive? What is happening to his knees? Are Hutchinson tyres really waterproof?
This video makes cycling through puddles and into buses seem really easy.

Hi! Arrived from the CTC newsletter.
That is a very cool video indeed. On the topic of Hutchinsons and water (no, I don’t have anything funny to say), some years ago my boyfriend put a pair of Top Slicks on his bike and soon after had a crash. He blamed the tires. I didn’t believe him until I borrowed his bike and on the first hard corner in the wet the front wheel slipped out on me. I was lucky enough to recover, but the Hutchinsons came off and we’ve (surely unfairly, but we’re happy with Schwalbes) never bought the brand since. I can’t remember if we gave the Top Slicks away or binned them out of spite. Some people like them…

That’s useful feedback, I think wet weather performance for bike tyres ought to be rated so that you know what you are getting

seriously gorgeous video! i’ve biked all those streets & bridges in Brooklyn & Manhattan (and miss them a lot looking at this). going to between buses i used to yell “BUS CANYONS” as loud as i could and it never bothered anyone. never felt so alive. i had some sort of kevlar-lined tires on my bike (a montague bi-frame and before that a peugot 10-speed dino) and rarely ever got flats. thanks for this; am going to watch it again (although i have to protest that the woman’s get-up is absurd — stiletto heals on a bike & a hat that blocks your vision? idiocy)

“BUS CANYONS” reminds me of the scene in Cabaret under the railway bridge – great idea!
