In 1966 (I think) my Mum and Dad got me a Moulton Mini for my birthday. It was similar to the bike above, but in eggshell blue and it was the standard model, so no gears. There is surprisingly little about the Moulton Mini on the web. It was designed as a children’s version of the original Moulton F Frame and was on 7/8ths scale, with 14 inch wheels. With front and rear suspension and a built in rear rack, it had a mega rear hub brake which could provoke a rear wheel skid with ease. It provided a first taste of independence and I had it for many years before buying a Dawes 5 speed racing bike. The photo above is of a beautifully restored bike, the only noticable difference I can spot is that mine had a white saddle as well as white handlebar grips. ITN claim to have a video of the Moulton Mini in their news archive here, but I am not sure. The Mini was designed for kids and did not come apart into two pieces.
