Sunday saw us on Pea Royd Lane for the National Hill Climb Championships. It was a good field with some 150 competitors and many more supporters. Nigel in particular had a very vociferous supporter cheering him on.

Come on Nigel!

Hill climbing is all about pain management. Paul (Kippy) looks to be riding within his pain threshold here

But as soon as he gets to the finish the effort shows

There is a brief look of concern from the marshalls before they decide he is going to survive and they prepare to dump him at the side of the road.

  4. Hi,

I just found this photo while Googling “John Green Leek” out of curiosity. Thanks to whoever took the photo – it must be one of the best ones I’ve ever seen of me on a bike. Maybe a bit unflattering but at least you can see I’m putting an effort in. In all the other TT photos I’ve seen, my wife says I look like I’m on a Sunday club run!

I didn’t enter this year’s National HC but hope to do Long Hill next year – it’s fairly local so no excuse!
